Flowers! Flowers! Flowers!

FILED IN: Tips

The most beautiful way to create elegance at your wedding is to include flowers! The petals of a flower are so delicate in all of their beauty but they also radiate a fragrance sure to draw you in.

Bouquets: The bridal bouquet is one of the most important pieces of your wedding. There are so many options of the type of bouquet you can use including round, pageant, cascade, nosegay, pomander and posy. Read more about the bridal bouquet and the history behind this priceless piece in my blog post titled “Why You Need the Bouquet & Where It Came From” .

Boutonnières: These little pieces add a touch of delicacy to all your favorite men in your life (including your handsome groom!). This could be one flower paired with some ribbon or another nostalgic pairing. Don’t forget to find someone that is qualified to pin!! It’s happens too often where the men get poked by someone that doesn’t know what they are doing.

Corsages: Corsages are an intimate way to show the special women in your life how much you care about them. These are often given to the mothers of the bride and groom, aunts and grandmothers.

Flowers for the Flower Girl: There are a few options when it comes to flowers for your beautiful little flower girl. You can opt to have her carry a basket of rose petals to drop as she walks down the aisle, or she can carry a miniature bouquet or  floral crowns.

Welcome Table: Decorating your welcome table with flowers is just an added touch to your special day! Something so small can add a beautiful touch to the guests that are coming.

Cake Table: Some brides opt for flowers on the cake but if you choose to have your cake be plain, you can decorate the table with an arrangement of flowers or just spread some flower petals around the cake stand with candles or special lighting.

Flowers for your Aisle: There are so many ways to add flowers to your ceremony such as aisle entryways, aisle makers and aisle runners. You can place flowers on the first chair in each aisle to add charm or have flower petals lined out to create an aisle. If you did not want flowers on every row, you could opt for having flowers just in the first few rows for your immediate family. Check out my post titled “5 Tips for your Wedding Aisle”.

Reserved Seats: A great way to reserve a seat for your immediate family, such as your mother or father who will be walking down the aisle or for their table at where they sit would be to mark their seat with a stand-alone flower. This is so pretty!

Altar Arrangements: There are soooo many options when it comes to decorating the altar in which you will say “I do!” You can use large vases that are filled with great big floral arrangements, using an arch fully decorated with flowers, arbors, chuppahs or placing a vase of flowers atop two pillars that will symbolize you and your beau coming together as one.

Petals for the Toss (Post-Ceremony): Don’t forget about the flower petals that will be used for that toss as you and your husband exit the ceremony. Placing a basket of petals under the seat will allow guests to have a handful to throw as you make your exit as husband and wife!

Guest Table Centerpieces: As you enter the site of your reception, the guest table centerpieces is the first thing that many eyes lay hold on. Whether you choose to go with a simple centerpiece or something more elaborate, I am sure it is set to be beautiful. Table centerpieces can also be paired with floating candles, greenery and of course an abundance of flowers!

Flowers for beside the Bridal Table: Most brides don’t usually have floral arrangements at the bridal table because the bouquet of the bridal party will be laid at their table as they eat and dance the night away, but another focal point of the reception is the floral arrangement beside the bridal table. Just like the ceremony site, you can use the same pillars and add a beautiful arrangement of flowers with candles, or you can have a tall and fragrant cascading floral centerpiece covered with ivy, hydrangeas and candelabras. So beautiful!
