5 Tips For Your Wedding Aisle

FILED IN: Tips

As you walk down the aisle on your special day all eyes will be on you! You want everything to be perfect, from your dress to your hair and makeup because today is the day you have dreamt up from the time you were a little girl. To ensure that your walk down the aisle goes just as you envisioned it, here are a few tips for making those strides to your groom elegant and full of grace.

1.) Walk slowly – Some brides tend to walk very fast when they are nervous so don’t forget to walk at a slow pace. This will allow your family and friends to have enough time to see you in all your beauty and it will give me time to take a good amount of beautiful photos of your special moment. Also, don’t forget to walk at the same pace as your escort, whether that’s your father or another delegated person.

2.) Allow Space in Time – Give yourself enough time between the moment that the Mother of the Groom and Mother of the Bride walk down, from when your Bridal Party walks down the aisle. This will allow enough time for your photographer to get into position and ensures the most optimal shots and beautiful photographs will be taken to last a lifetime. Sometimes the bridal party walks one right after the other which makes it difficult to see everyone perfectly and one person might be missed from the photos.

3.) Make your aisle spacious – Make sure to allow enough room in your aisle for those walking down it to have space to walk. Your aisle should be wide enough to hold three people comfortably as some brides choose to have both parents walk them down the aisle, or to allow enough space when your guests exit after the ceremony. I have seen in time past where there was only room for too and it made it very difficult for all three to walk down at the same time, one was being pulled along in the back.

4.) A Beautiful Backdrop behind and in front – Another thing to consider is to have a beautiful focal point for your aisle. This will help to allow for the photos to be beautiful and set the tone for your wedding ceremony and scene for your vows. Most people do not think about what is behind you while you walk down the aisle but they just think was is in front of you. I have seen where people are standing, a trash can, cars or just random items that are not pleasant to the eye behind you as you walk down. You wouldn’t want any eye sores in your photographs showing that intimate moment as you walk down the aisle to your groom.

5.) Lastly, Smile 🙂 – With all the pressure of the day, don’t forget to smile and feel free to look around and enjoy your special moment. Don’t forget to let your bridal party know to smile as well, I have seen it where some people look so sad while walking down the aisle and it should be a happy day. Take it all in because this is that memory that you will hold in your heart forever!
