2018 – New Year, New Goals

FILED IN: Tips

Another year has come and gone and I’m still feeling so blessed for everything that 2017 offered but I am so excited to see what 2018 has in store. I’m more than ready to turn a new leaf as wedding season is quickly approaching!

I’ve set a few goals for growth in 2018, where I hope to learn new techniques and gain knowledge and skills as your wedding photographer. I plan to start by reading Picture Perfect Lighting by Roberto Valenzuela, who is a very talented photographer and educator. I’m also planning to attend the Wedding & Portrait Photography Expo in Las Vegas, which is an amazing photography conference, giving me the opportunity to meet over 10,000 world renown photographers and aspiring professionals in the wedding business.

In 2017, I dedicated time to writing many blogs of wedding tips where my clients were able to learn about every wedding day detail such as Rising Above Disasters, Family Formals Done Right, Five Tips for your wedding Aisle, The First Look, and Where the Bouquet Came From. In 2018, I plan to do the same but also put a spin on it where I will send tips to each couple every Thursday so that they can be prepared for their upcoming wedding day. I also hope to continue to post the happy couple’s photographs of their engagement or wedding on my blog and hopefully be featured on at least 3 well-known wedding magazines.

Last year, I photographed a LOT of weddings and although I love being busy, I have set a goal in 2018 to limit myself to 25 weddings for the year, which will allow me to give each bride and groom the quality time that they deserve from me. I plan to only do 6 regular photo shoots per month and just one trip per month.

This year, I would like to become more dedicated to my clients as this personal goal is so important for me to reach. I also plan to spend time with family and take the opportunity to photograph more of the beauty that surrounds me and enjoy the moments I am living in!

  1. Great blog. I love your work Holly.
