Veil or No Veil?

FILED IN: Tips

Now that you’ve said “Yes!” to the dress, let’s talk about veil options. While the veil is beautiful and adds an extra hint of romance and elegance, it is of course 100% optional, and brides will look stunning with or without it. When choosing a veil, it is helpful to take into account your dress, venue and hairstyle. If you are planning a very detailed style for your hair, you may want to consider a nice crown or headpiece as an alternative. Helpful hint, windy areas are perfect for your very own “veil blowing in the wind” shots.

Holly D Tips: There are three reasons why I recommend the bride only wear her veil when she comes down the aisle

  1. This is a new way for your groom to see you, he’s in awe at how beautiful his bride is.
  2. Many times during a first look, the groom is so excited to see his bride that he accidentally pulls the veil out when he throws his arms around her
  3. Saving the veil for the ceremony ensures that I will get some “just married” portraits time with the couple.

When choosing which veil is right for you, there are several lengths and styles to choose from.
