I met these two lovely people while visiting the Benicia Clock Tower with one of my brides (Gina). We were going to look at the property together but they ended up being closed unexpectedly. Both Samantha and Gina were getting married there and they were scouting out the land, it is such a beautiful venue! While I was there Gina and Samantha started talking about wedding details and I started talking to the groom and his mother. I loved hearing all about how he loves history and the colonial time period. I was thinking how this location is perfect for him. We shared contact information and from meeting them there I was able to capture their wedding and I am so blessed that I had that opportunity.
They are such a sweet couple with so many great traditions such as the Tea Ceremony, the presenting of the Reef to the bride, and many others. They even insisted that I participate in the Tea Ceremony, I felt so honored. First you receive two candies from the groom, then your presented with a hand towel to wash your hands, then they pen a flower to your shirt and then the bride makes tea for you to drink. This is showing that you are welcomed into their home and they are showing you hospitality. I love learning about different cultures and traditions. I think it is so important and special to incorporate your families tradition into your wedding. All of your family members will feel right at home and feel like their heritage is living on through all of the generations.
I am so happy for Samantha & Christian! They are such a special couple with so much love for one another. Congratulations and may your lives be filled with joy!
