Over the past week many of us watched as over 5,700 structures burned in the fourteen fires in Northern California. The Atlas and Tubbs fires destroyed many homes and businesses, including the 41 people that lost their lives. In a time of tragedy, the spirit and love surrounding the cities of the Napa and Sonoma County can definitely be felt. The flyers that surround these towns are filled with a beautiful quote that says “The love in the air is thicker than the smoke. #SonomaStrong”
Dana and Ricky are a perfect example that their love is stronger than the smoke that filled the air. Many years ago Dana and Ricky were high school sweethearts and as their lives went in different paths after graduation. Ricky moved away, while Dana stayed in the Bay Area and became a teacher. A few years ago a friend encouraged Dana to go to her high school reunion, and upon arriving she locked eyes with Ricky and she was the only person he could see in the room. Since that moment they connected, started dating and their love has continued to grow!
Before the flames enraged last week, Dana and Ricky had planned to celebrate their marriage on Saturday at a beautiful winery that happened to be located right in the middle of all the flames. As the days progressed, the lovely couple opted to move their wedding reception to the Villa Romano Restaurant, which is located in the heart of Napa and it was such a beautiful ceremony at the Napa Valley Lutheran Church! Congratulations to Dana and Ricky!
