I often write these blog posts of tips for my brides where I talk about things that are so important for your wedding day. I wanted to put a list together for my brides (and grooms!) of what are the top 5 things that a couple should spend their money on for their wedding. Of course there is sooo many other things that you will need to pay for, but these are my recommendations of what should be most important.
Wedding Planner –
Last week ago I wrote a blog post about the Importance of Hiring a Wedding Planner. Oftentimes brides like to be creative and enjoy planning their wedding themselves but entrusting in a professional to handle the planning is the best way to get through your wedding, stress free! Check out the blog post titled “Importance of Hiring a Wedding Planner” where I talk about the ins and outs of why this role is so important!
Great Photographer –
Finding the right photographer is soooo important, and I’m not just saying that because I am a photographer. I’ve heard the story so many times where brides entrusted a family friend to take photographs for their special day, not realizing that the quality of the photographs did not come out how they envisioned. Now that the moment has passed, the bride is in tears because they have no way to remember their special day. You should always do your research by reading their reviews and checking out their work. Another tip: check out my blog post called “Trusting Your Photographer” where I talk about the importance of the relationship between you and your photographer and allowing them to suggest different things to make the photographs beautiful.
Good Makeup & Hair Artist –
The way you look on your special day is one thing that you should not ever settle for! This is your big day lady and your dress combined with your makup and hair is sure to shock your groom and all of your guests. When looking for a makeup artist or hair artist, do your research. Check them out on yelp and social media and read their reviews. The great thing about makeup and hair is that most artists will allow you to do a test run before hand to make sure that you will be able to get the look you are going for. I love referring my clients to Jovance Salon and Barbering. They have “Jovanced” many of my brides and they don’t disappoint! You can check them out here.
Good Venue –
Finding the perfect venue can seem like such a daunting task in the beginning but it’s one of the biggest decisions that you will make at the start of planning your wedding. Consider finding a venue that is all inclusive and provides everything you are looking for. This eliminates the need to travel to multiple destinations to create your perfect day. Check out my blog post “Choosing the Perfect Venue” where I go into detail about all the things you should consider when picking a place to start your journey as husband and wife.
Wedding Gown –
Last, but not least is the dress! It’s very important to find the dress of your dreams and as many brides have often asked the question “How will I know I have found the perfect dress?” You will know that it’s the perfect one, just like you knew he was the one that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. Make sure you don’t go cheap on your gown either. Although you and your new husband will be the focal point of the photographs, your dress is also one of the focal points and you want it to be a good choice!
