I’m sure you’ve seen the checklists of all the things that you can opt to include when planning your wedding and now that overwhelming feeling in the pit of your stomach has began to set in. This is that pivotal point where hiring a wedding planner will save your life, and your sanity!
Wedding planners are such an important role of the wedding planning process because they are professionals and they have seen it all! From the fairytale princess wedding where a bride comes down in a glass elevator to the intimate setting of an exchange of vows in your family’s backyard or at the local courthouse. They have created hundreds of happy couples become one.
Wedding planners know people. They are able to give beautiful ideas that can turn your wedding into the event that you’ve always dreamed of! They have the ability to keep your budget on track, especially since some wedding planners work with vendors so often that they receive great discounts for their brides!
Wedding planners are also able to ensure that your vision for your special day comes to fruition and they stand their ground to ensure that nothing messes that up. Even that overbearing family member that wants to change things up on the day of. Wedding planners are gifted individuals that can keep the day stress free, uplifted and they have a knack for keeping it all together.
There have been times when I have seen wedding planners go above and beyond to make sure your day is amazing. Like a few weeks ago a wire in my brides dress came through and started cutting her underarm and without her knowing blood was going all over the dress under her arms. The wedding planner was able to cut the wires out of the dress, aid her bride’s arm, cut off the portion of the dress with the blood and sew it back together where it looks like nothing ever happened. Seriously without that wedding planner it could have been tragic. This is just one of the many things I have seen wedding planner super heroes do. They are fantastic!! They are not just there to make it look pretty but they are there to make sure that your every need is met.
So, how do you pick the right one? The best way is to ask the right questions. But first, here are some things to have in mind before finding the perfect wedding planner.
*What is your budget?
*How many people would you like to invite?
*What is your preferred wedding date?
*What is the overall vision for your wedding? (This can come later but if you know, bring your ideas with you!)
Once you’ve met with a few wedding planners and have had a chance to interview them, here are a few things to ask yourself to see if they are the perfect fit for you and your groom:
*Did the planner understand your vision, or add suggestions to paint your vision?
*Did you feel heard?
*Did you feel that the things most important to you would be executed?
*Was there a good connection and did our personalities marry well?
*Are the quick at responding?
*Do you feel like they know what they are doing?
In the end trust what your gut is telling you to do. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t worry because your perfect wedding planner is out there, waiting for you!
