Unplugged Wedding

Some couples opt to allow their wedding to be fully ‘plugged in’ allowing guests to take snapshots of the day and even posting to social media using the couple’s special hashtag that was created just for this day!

There are more pros to establishing an ‘unplugged wedding’ though. It’s a painful point for your photographer that you hired when your Uncle Joe is compromising the professional photographs by standing in front of the photographer’s view. Or when there are guests standing in front of the photographer, who is standing in the middle of the aisle to get that perfect shot of the ceremony, but they have to maneuver around family members and friends.  Or when your photographer is about to get the kiss and then someone’s hand goes up with their cell phone then their photo is blurry anyways because they shook the phone while snapping the photo. I am pro Unplugged wedding at least during the ceremony, the other parts of the wedding please snap away but during the ceremony there is nothing like soaking it all in and sharing those special moments with the bride and groom instead of looking through the screen of your cell phone. This will help with not missing any important memories during the day. As you can see I have a lot of experience with guests getting into the shots during the ceremony.

Below was such a sweet moment between the bride and her parents but as you can see someone else wanted that photo too.

So, what’s the best way to let your guests know that you would like your wedding to be unplugged? Place a sign at the entrance of your ceremony location or in the front of your ceremony site letting them know that you are requesting photographs be taken after the ceremony. You can also ask your officiant or DJ to announce it before the ceremony begins to remind guests.

Go Unplugged Wedding!
